International Students' Conference

Trust is an important and fluid foundation in our lives that can be experienced on three levels: From our personal sphere, trust can be summed up as “self-confidence”. From the interpersonal level, trusting each other, as well as the belief that loyalty, and responsibility are related to each other. From a social perspective, as is reflected in politics, the personal meets the interpersonal level. Only through a balance between one’s contribution to society and the individual possibilities arising from said contribution, can a harmonious-functioning community be created. It is important that we question trust but not to doubt it, in order to enter the future path with confidence. At the five days lasting “Trust” conference, we will deal with aspects of ourselves, each other, and society. Through this theme, we invite you to work with questions of our future, which concern us all.
Workshops
At the digital International Students‘ Conference 2021, we’re offering workshops, you can easily just do in your room or in your neighborhood. We’re offering both practical and theoretical workshops, where you can discuss about the offered topic, but also can experience some courses you always wanted to attend.
Conversation Groups
The Conversation Groups focus on the content of the lectures and the impulses for the day. So there you discuss with a group of students from all around the world, what you’ve heard in the lecture, what you think about the said words, where you agree or disagree. The Conversation Group is meant to be a space, where you can just share your thoughts with an international group of students.

Open Activities
With the Open Activities we want to give you a similar feeling to what we experienced at the last International Students‘ Conference, where we just sat around during the lunch time, talking with people and experiencing some sports, we never heard before, learning sign language, and how to turn a cartwheel. You can also just offer something there, if something pops up in your mind.

Presentation Kiss the Ground
Right now, soil might be the last thing on your mind. But in a moment when the future of our planet and humankind is at stake, nothing may be more important than regenerating the ground beneath us. We’re in need of a kind of hope we’ve never felt before. KISS THE GROUND, now out on Netflix, unveils a game-changer to our climate crisis: the Earth’s own soil.
We’re facing a lot of challenges right now — this film is creating a movement to solve one of our greatest challenges: balancing the climate and securing our future.
Ryland Engelhart will take us on a 30 minute long trip through the movie project. During the conference, you’ll also be able to watch the movie for free.

Books Not Guns: Building Trust and Peace through Education
With each passing day, the world seems to become more divisive. Extreme ideologies are gaining more prominence in many countries. Conflict and war continue to destroy the lives of millions of people. Social media has become a polarizing force used by individuals and groups to pursue their own interests. At the same time, young people are coming of age in a time of global crisis amid a pandemic, economic recession, and climate change.
